Heartsaver® Instructor Course
The American Heart Association Heartsaver® Instructor Course is designed for individuals who wish to teach AHA Heartsaver® courses, including CPR AED, First Aid, and Pediatric First Aid CPR AED, to the community and workplace audiences.
This course provides instructor candidates with the skills, knowledge, and administrative guidance needed to deliver high-quality, AHA-compliant training. Participants will learn how to teach effectively, evaluate student skills, and maintain the standards required by the American Heart Association.
Course Content Includes:

AHA Instructor requirements and responsibilities

Planning, organizing, and delivering Heartsaver® courses

Skills testing and student remediation techniques

Use of AHA course materials, Instructor Manual, and Instructor Essentials

Administrative processes, rosters, and eCard issuance
-
Instructor monitoring and renewal requirements
Prerequisites:

Current AHA Heartsaver® course completion (within the last 2 years) in the discipline(s) to be taught

Completion of the Heartsaver® Instructor Essentials online course prior to attending

Affiliation with an AHA Training Center (we provide alignment upon course completion)
Certification:
Upon successful completion of the Instructor Course and required monitoring, participants receive an American Heart Association Heartsaver® Instructor eCard, valid for two years.
